About 90s Christmas family photos

In the 1990s the family Christmas photo was a snapshot from a point-and-shoot film camera, with a harsh flash, red eyes and an orange date stamp in the corner, or a stiff portrait from the mall photo studio. Matching knit sweaters made them the awkward family photos people now recreate on purpose.

This studio is one 1995 house at Christmas: the tree in a wood-paneled living room, the couch in front of the TV and video game, the kitchen with cookies, Christmas dinner, the staircase, a mall portrait studio and the basement rec room. Everyone wears the same snowflake sweater in every photo.

The house was rebuilt from 1990s family snapshots and the 1991 and 1996 Christmas catalogs: the wood paneling, floral curtains, orange recliner, entertainment center with a CRT TV and VCR, and the Tiffany-style lamp come from them.

FAQ

What do I get?+

7 photos in landscape 3:2, one in each set of our 1990s Christmas studio. Everyone you add is in all 7, in the same outfits. The first one is your free preview. Add seven 5-second videos for $1 at 480p or $2 at 720p; videos are cropped to 16:9.

Will my photos have a watermark or logo?+

No. Your photos come clean, with no watermark, logo or studio stamp. The small stamp is only on our example photos, and the PREVIEW label is only on the free preview.

How many people can be in the photos?+

From one to 20, a big extended family included. Send one selfie per person or pet, and everyone appears in all 7 photos. The price goes by group size: 1 to 4 $5.90, 5 to 8 $7.90, 9 to 14 $10.90, 15 to 20 $12.90.

Can everyone send a selfie from a different place?+

Yes. Everyone sends their own selfie, so family in different cities can join. We put everyone together in all 7 photos; you do not need a group photo.

Can I print them?+

Yes. The photos are 2K in landscape 3:2, about 2,000 pixels wide, enough for 4×6 or 5×7 prints and holiday cards. Download them and use any print shop.

Can I use the photos?+

Yes, they are yours for personal use: holiday cards, prints, profile pictures and posts.

What happens to our photos?+

Your uploads are deleted after 7 days and the finished photos and videos after 30 days, so download the ones you want to keep. We do not use your photos to train models. Evolink receives your photos and the studio set to make your photos; if you add videos, KeelRouter passes the finished photos to fal to animate them.

When is this not the right choice?+

When you have more than 20 people or pets in one photo, when you want to edit a group photo you already have, or when you need a real portrait sitting for an official document.

Can we do awkward Christmas family photos without a photographer?+

Yes. Each person sends a selfie, and we put you all in one 1995 living room in matching sweaters, from the tree to Christmas dinner.

Can we use it for our Christmas card?+

Yes. The photos are 2K and print well as a holiday card; the first one, in front of the tree, is made for it.

Can the whole extended family be in our Christmas picture?+

Yes, up to 20 people and pets: grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and the dog. Everyone sends a selfie from home and the whole family ends up in one 1995 living room, in matching sweaters.

Can our dog be in the matching sweater photo?+

Yes. Add your pet as one of the photos and it gets a tiny matching sweater or a Santa hat.

How much does it cost?+

$5.90 or 59 credits. You pay once for one set of 7 photos, with no account or subscription. With an account you can pay in credits instead.
